Pineapple Doilies

Doily making is always an outside sewing room project for me.

I work on doilies during our family chit chats and TV times.

I was slightly overdoing on doilies, since i got few doily pattern books.

And because of that there was a backlog in doily blocking.

After finishing my last quilting project i blocked 4 doilies out of 6…

Today i thought I'll share with you, 2 doilies from the same family – The pineapple doily

pineapple blossom

This is Pineapple blossom doily by Delsie Rhoades.

..It was a lovely pattern ..

It would have been beautiful, if i used beads for the picot, but i didn’t have perfect beads for this colour …

i think i should redo this pattern with some other colour and beads.

posh pineapple doily

This is a Posh Pineapple doily by Patricia Kristofferson.

I wanted to try a thread other than white, but not very happy with the choice of the colour…

It’s ok…i don’t mind repeating this pattern with some other colour, because i loved this pattern.

Both these patterns are from the book Pineapple Doilies by Leisure Art

It’s a perfect book to invest on, if you are doily maker…I love every pattern in this book.

It is a little book to carry along when you travel.

But i will not,i learned my lesson during my last trip, i had to surrender my crochet hook during the security check.

They found it as an extremely harmful weapon. And i lost my favorite doily making hook.

I never take these stuff in my hand baggage.

To make a long story short, i had to carry my trolley as hand baggage in the last minute…

and i forgot that my hobby kit is inside that bag.

Looking forward to do many more pattern from this little book.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Until next time..

Have a nice day…nima

  6. Hi Nima, I don't know why but I find it hard to post comments from my iPad with this new format, isn't just me? Anyway nice work love the design. The one with beads remind me of something I saw years ago, a doily that sits over your glass when you are not using it, it is weighted down with beads. Do you have a pattern for one of those? If so I would love to get one from you, a finished product that is not the pattern hahaha, buy it of course :-) I go crazy when I leave my glass down and it gets put in the dishwasher, the doily will "scream back off, I can use this glass all day!" . Hope you are well.any plans for the Eid break?
