Christmas Pillow Linky Party….

We are getting closer to Christmas , my Christmas stitching is about to end for this year.
Let us party together with our Christmas pillows …
Next in the line to show to the world is a pair of Christmas pillows i made for our futon.
quilted pillows
It is a quilted pillow with raw edge appliqué.

This time i took time to finish it with a zipper.
Every time when i make a pillow, i escape the zipper finish and try to be satisfied with an envelop finish.
I will show you the back side of the pillow, I'm glad that it came out neat with the zipper…

It is easy to fix zipper for a pillow…I'll show you how i did …
Don’t worry even if you have a smaller size zipper. Just see what i did..
fixing zipper for pillow  zipper end
I attached a 1” piece of fabric on either side, just make sure you fold it neatly, it is going to be visible.
Now you need to attach the fabric to two sides of the  zipper, and top stitch it..
attaching fab to side 1 zipper on other side
It is a quick picture, if it is confusing please let me know. After fixing fabric on either side, just sew around keeping wrong sides of both the pillow front and the zipper back face to face. ..and it will look like this ..…

I put the pillow insert inside just to show you, you can do the binding for the pillow to finish it and it is ready….
One last shot …

It came out really well and I'm proud of my finish..
Now let us link up all the Christmas pillows from the blog land…
Yes, only Christmas pillows….
You can link up any Christmas pillows that you made…it is not necessary that it should be this years’ finish…
You all will have at least one Christmas pillow finish that you are proud off..
I would love to see that…and I'm sure everyone will enjoy that too.
Ok let us Party with the Christmas pillows…

  11. Love your Christmas pillows Nima! They are really pretty. And thanks so much for the tut, too, I will probably follow it for the zipper insert. I usually put a zip in the edge, but this looks much neater and easier as well. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. :)
